WEROCK Technologies GmbH, innovative manufacturer of industrial rugged tablets, notebooks and handheld mobile computers, introduces “Rocktab S500”, a new series of fully rugged tablets in three screen sizes and Jasper Lake generation Intel® processors. They are designed for professional use in industrial manufacturing, automobile, logistics, public safety, utility sector, etc. Despite the fully rugged design and waterproof housing, the tablets score with numerous features, such as particularly high performance, up to 16 GB of RAM, full Windows environment, a wide range of connections and functions, and large, fast-charging batteries.
Wether for digitalization of workflows, acceleration of warehouse processes, analysis of machines and vehicles, navigation to job sites or in manufacturing – the new Rocktab S500 series, consisting of Rocktab S508, Rocktab S510 and Rocktab S512, promise reliable performance in all industries. The tablets are waterproof and dustproof according to IP65 standards and are also certified in accordance with the military standard MIL-STD-810, so that they can withstand almost every harsh condition: The models can easily withstand dust, dirt, rain, snow and extreme temperatures from -20° C to +60° C. They even survive drops from a height of 1.2 meters or strong vibrations in vehicles. The devices have scratch-resistant screens with gesture-compatible touchscreens that enable intuitive operation. Despite their high robustness, the models of the new series are very compact with a depth of around 2 cm, making them comfortable to work with.
When it comes to the inside, the new series also has a lot to offer: Conceptualized as a mobile, yet full-fledged workstation, the rugged tablets rely on the new Windows 11 operating system. Only the Rocktab S508 has to do without official support due to Microsoft’s restrictions, but an upgrade is possible, according to WEROCK. Under the hood, powerful and at the same time energy-efficient Intel® Celeron Quad-Core processors work with up to 2.9 GHz of the Jasper Lake generation as well as working memory of up to 16 GB for the Rocktab S512. Compared to the usual Atom processors, this is almost five times the performance.
The battery performance of the new models is also remarkable. The generous replaceable batteries provide up to 9 hours of runtime on a single charge. A powerful 65-watt power supply ensures that the tablet is quickly recharged. What’s more, the Rocktab S512’s battery is even “hot-swappable” – it can be swapped while the tablet is in use, allowing for potentially unlimited, uninterrupted battery life.
All three tablets feature a wide range of functions: Even in their standard configuration, the rugged computers offer full-fledged USB ports, front and rear cameras, mobile 4G LTE Internet, high-end GPS, Bluetooth and modern Wi-Fi 5 WLAN from Intel®. Optionally, each Rocktab S500 device can be equipped with 2D barcode scanner; Rocktab S510 and Rocktab S512 also with Gigabit Ethernet or serial interface. In addition, the tablets have strong tamper protection though TPM 2.0, which checks for signs of an intrusion attempt at system startup.
