TSC Printronix Auto ID is launching its first mobile RFID printer. Available in the market from the end of April, the Alpha-40L RFID is the smart addition to the RFID printer portfolio and also the result of TSC Printronix Auto ID’s combined expertise in RFID. The extremely robust model in a classic design enables simple, fast printing and encoding of RFID tags and RFID labels as well – anytime and anywhere this is required. Strong premium functions, extremely easy handling, excellent battery capacity and state-of-the-art technology make this versatile all-rounder a resilient link in the production and logistics process. More flexibility in the labeling process is hardly possible: The new thermal direct printer in the TSC Printronix Auto ID portfolio was developed specifically for the efficient printing and encoding of a wide variety ofRFID labels.
However, if required, it can also print various “normal” labels precisely with all relevant information as well as 1D and 2D codes. The print width is up to 104 mm, the print resolution 203 dpi and the print speed up to 127 mm per second (5 ips). With a weight of only 1,025 grams (including battery), the robust, powerful all-rounder is predestined for mobile use in transport and logistics, production, retail, healthcare and also in a wide range of industries such as the food, beverage and automotive industries. Based on the same advanced RFID technology as TSC Printronix Auto ID’s enterprise-class RFID printers, the Alpha-40L RFID can encode even complex inlays. In terms of ease of use, the powerhouse reaches a new level thanks to automatic RFID calibration, seven menu buttons, intuitive navigation and clear 2.3″ color LCD display. The integrated software supports SDK software packages for popular operating systems such as Windows™, Windows™ Mobile (WinCE), Android™ as well as iOS – making the printer’s setup, programming and operation not only particularly easy, but also especially fast. Other key components of the innovative system – and at the same time a guarantee for uninterrupted operation during a complete work shift – are the rechargeable 7.4V DC 6,200mAh Li-Ion battery and TSC’s intelligent battery management system. The smart combination of SOTI Connect Remote Printer Management and TSC Console also ensures maximum productivity with significantly reduced maintenance costs and downtime. A fast, secure wireless connection can be established via either the latest 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac WiFi Bluetooth® 4.2 or via Apple-certified MFi Bluetooth® 5.0. This means workers are always connected, well-informed and able to print the labels they need, where they need them, at any time, thanks to advanced wireless technology. Users will also appreciate the extreme robustness of the Alpha-40L RFID. Intensive testing has proven that the IP54-rated mobile printer can withstand dust and water without the need for an additional cover, and can even withstand drops from a height of 1.8 meters without damage. If an optional protective cover is used, the device remains undamaged even if dropped from a height of 2.5 meters. Due to its solid design, the smart all-rounder also meets the military standards MIL-STD-810G for drop and vehicle vibrations.
